DESCRIPTION:The Covering House 24\,901-Mile Activity Challenge begins this Sunday August 21st. Several of us cyclists are planning to kick off the event with our traditional Katy Trail bike ride to start logging the miles. We plan to start from the parking lot at Greens Bottom Rd & Pitman Hill Rd (link) and ride out about 25 miles to Dutzow and back for a total of 50 miles. If you would like to do a shorter or different distance you can turn around at any point. We will set off at 7am\, average riding speed will be between 12.5-15mph on the trail.

SUMMARY:Double Chubb 25K/50K Trail Race
DESCRIPTION:The race is run on the popular Chubb trail.  The 25k will do one out & back & the 50k will do two. The trail itself varies from  a gravel service road\, to a mostly dirt trail along the Meramec river\, to a mile-long series of climbs\, to  finally a rolling trail that winds through the hills of the Meramec River.  There are no stream crossings.  If the Meramec River is well above flood stage then the race will be rerouted.  There are two railroad crossings and extreme caution must be taken because the trains come through this area at a high rate of speed.  Runners may see deer\, turkey and other wildlife throughout this trail run.
