March CSAUP to Benefit Ranken Jordan

HIMs of STL Region: The CSAUP for March is David Goggins’ 4x4x48 Challenge. Basically, running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours.

Starting on Friday, March 5 at 10 p.m. CST (8 p.m. PST to run at the same time as David Goggins), run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. So you’ll run 4 miles at 10 p.m., 2, 6, 10 a.m., 2, 6, and 10 p.m., etc. until you finish 12 rounds on Sunday at 6 p.m. for a total of 48 miles.

Not a “runner”? As always, modify as needed — push yourself, don’t hurt yourself. Consider rucking in preparation for GrowRuck, modify to 3(miles)x4x48. Or run/walk, or some other form of exercise for 30-60 minutes every 4 hours.

Many of us will have conflicts, especially those with kids participating in activities. This challenge will certainly take buy-in from your M and coordination for a lot of us. Don’t be discouraged if you have to miss a leg or two. Consider making them up by extending other legs or extending the challenge past 6 p.m. on Sunday, if necessary, but again — modify as needed.

There is no cost to participate. However, we are accepting donations to Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital in coordination with The MRJ Way Community Challenge to celebrate their 80th anniversary. There’s a team fundraiser page for those who are interested/able to support financially (Team F3STL).

Ranken Jordan is an incredible organization, led by our brother @Mister Rogers, here locally that serves as a pediatric bridge hospital by helping kids from birth to age 21 who are well enough to leave a traditional hospital but still need help before they go home. They specialize in caring for children and families with the most complex conditions, illnesses and injuries and bridge the gap between hospital and home.

A $48 donation is suggested (given the nature of this challenge), but any amount helps!

The location is TBD, but will be coordinated with participating PAX, perhaps at rotating AO’s throughout the region, to keep us motivated throughout the two days. For those who aren’t able to meet up to complete a leg together, you can get your miles/time in wherever is most convenient!
